If you ask Rob Flajnik where one of his favorite places in the world is, he will tell you without hesitation that it is Rocky Point. That says a lot considering the fact that Rob lived in Hawaii for 6 years. When his girlfriend, Brenda, asked him to go to Rocky Point in September of 1997, Rob hesitated a little since he didn't think that it would compare favorably with Hawaii. Rob was pleasantly surprised. He instantly fell in love with the beauty and laid back way of life of Puerto Penasco.. Rob works for a Phoenix radio station as production/creative director. Although he loves his work, he heads south to Rocky Point whenever possible.

 Rob had thought that he would like to go out on a shrimping excursion. He talked with Jose at the fish market and asked about shrimping. Jose said, "my friend, you don't want to do that. That boat stays out there a long time with nothing to eat but beans. I'm just being honest with you." I sat there a minute and thought about it. Then Rob said "that's cool..I like beans!". That's about as far as that conversation went. Rob said that he appreciated Jose's honesty, but still might want to do it. Until then, he has come up with another plan...to record and produce a high quality CD of the surf at the beaches of Rocky Point. Rob said, "I was going to do this just for myself, but after sharing it with friends, they encouraged me to try and market it. They were impressed with the quality of the recording and said that it was absolutely relaxing."

Rob was asked what inspired the idea of recording the surf and producing a CD, he responded, "I've done other CD's including the Hawaiian surf, rain and desert storms, but was awestruck by the surf sounds in Rocky Point. With the huge tide changes and the solitude of the beaches, it made for the perfect recording." When asked about what he likes the best about Puerto Penasco, he replied, "I love the peacefulness and the pure joy of being on the water. I also love the people, culture, food, fishing, and the overall experience of Rocky Point. The best part of it is that it is only a short drive away (especially when I'm driving)!" 

Okay, so What is Rocky Point Relaxation …..”It is 60 minutes of pure Sea of Cortez surf. It was digitally recorded when there was no one on the beach. There's no music, just the sound of the waves lapping against the shore.  Very relaxing . It takes you away  in seconds and has a calming effect that is incredible. I've listened to many other meditation/relaxation CD's and nothing compares to this one. If you love the water, you will definitely enjoy this recording.
